I made an appt. for CVS today...

in Pregnant after 35

and genetic counseling, and I'm scared.

I would love to hear others experiences with this.

    I have an appt on the 18th of this month. I already am starting to feel a little better knowing there are other 35+ women out there going through this too. I just keep on talking to my baby and telling them what's going on, and hopefully when it's time for the cvs both myself and baby are more at ease with all that will be going on down there.

    I know it's hard, but try to relax. Many of us here had CVS  and I have yet to read of anyone having a negative experience. The likelihood is that you will be OK and so will LO. Good luck!

    Hi,

    I had CVS @ 13 weeks.  The dr inserted the needle in my abdomen.  It didn't hurt, I had no complications, and went out to dinner that night.  I had the FISH results the next day and the full results in 7 days.

    I was really nervous about the CVS too but it wasn't as bad as I had imagined.  I had a really good doctor who helped put me at ease. The procedure was uncomfortable but it was such a relief to get the good results.  I kept my eyes closed so I didn't see the needle.  My husband watched the ultrasound screen and assured me that the needle was nowhere near the baby.
