co-sleeping, not worried about nursery being finished...WWYD?

I don't know if I should be worrying about finishing out nursery, our LO won't be sleeping or napping in his room for a while. So I haven't bought any of his crib set, and I don't know if I should stress about it if we don't get it at our baby showers. I have the changing table all set up, but not his crib.

What would you do? are you getting the nursery totally finished even if your co-sleeping?

Re: co-sleeping, not worried about nursery being finished...WWYD?

  • We will probably have it finished.  Im not sure how long we will want LO in our room.  I think I'll try to put her for naps in her own room.

  • If you're not worried about it I would just take it easy and do it when you feel like it.

Personally, I want to have it all done beforehand because I like crossing things off my list and I want to concentrate on the baby as much as possible after he gets here. (I'm only taking partial leave since I work from home)

  • We're only setting up the Co-sleeper, glider and changing table/dresser at first.  Then the crib later

    don't stress about it.

I just change diapers and clothes in LO's room.  She sleeps in her pack n play in our room but naps wherever - in the pack n play or in her little rocker.

  • Nope we are not setting up the nursery right away. She will be sleeping in our room, so we have the changing table/dresser set up and the cradle thing and thats it. There are enough things to stress on, this is not one I am choosing to.

  • I didn't have any of the nursery done when I was 29 weeks and it is totally done now. If I were you, I would get it done just so you won't have to worry about doing it with a baby.. JMO.
  • We just moved.  We have all of our nursery furniture (minus the wall decorations) but most of it is stored at BIL's house from before the move.  Eventually we have to get it over here but I am not worried about getting it done before the baby is here because we are planning for him to sleep in our room for the first few months anyway.
  • Personally, I remember being sleep deprived with DS1. I would want everything possible done ahead of time so I wouldn't have to deal with it later.
  • We plan on getting it finished before the baby arrives.  One reason is because I am super excited about it and can't wait until her room is done.  But another reason is it takes a lot of time painting, picking things out, etc. and I have the free time now, and won't have as much when the baby comes.
  • The room is painted and all the furniture is set up, I was talking more about the little things, like putting in a mattress and getting his crib set. other wise a lot of stuff is in his nursery I guess you could say we are half done, and I am not really stressing about the smaller things.
  • Don't let it cause you any stress. But do keep in mind that no matter how much you might not feel like doing it now, you'll feel less like it later! :)

With my first humanspawn we finished things up a couple weeks before he was born and then proceeded to let him cosleep/sleep in a pnp in our room for about 6 weeks. I don't really think I'd have had the energy or inclination to do much with it after he was born.
