Sammie for a girl.  Not sure why, but that's what comes to my mind.

Ok, this may be a bit over-analytical, but I believe technically acording to American grammer/spelling:

Sammy = boy's spelling

Sammie = girl's spelling

Personally I think "ie" is cuter anyway.

I'm a Samantha and I really hate Sammy and Sami. I prefer Sammie. I know other Samanthas that are fine with other spellings though. My parents picked the "Sammy" spelling for me from day 1 and I hate that I never had a choice in it. IMO, it is a the boy spelling!
