Ethan James was borth at 2:05pm, weighing 6 lbs 8 oz
Emma Juliette was born at 2:13pm, weighing 5 lbs 6 oz
They were born vaginally, with no complications! The babies needed no medical care, and mom is doing wonderfully!
Dad is from Jamaica, and so far, Ethan is taking on his laid back attitude. Emma on the other hand, came out sucking her thumb so hard she was making sucking noises and was looking for a nipple everywhere she turned! We were surprised at how light they were! But we know their little Jamaican suntan will come with time. Emma latched on instantly, she was so hungry! Ethan just wanted to sleep but would suck a few times and take a little nap until she woke him up. First time breast feeding and she had one on each side!
As for the process itself, as I wrote in my other post, Saturday night they started softening her cervix. All Sunday she labored with Pitocin. They stopped it around 8:30, gave her a break, she had some food, and had a good night sleep. At 6:10am Monday, they were checking her and her water broke, she was at 2cm. By the time I got there, an hour and a half later, she was laboring and was realizing what REAL labor was like! She was not happy! She couldn't even talk, it was pretty bad. Not too long later they checked her and she was at 5cm, so they got the epidural in place, muchhhhh better!
She was comfortable for about an hour, then asked me to go get the nurse since they said she could turn her epi up a notch and felt a lot of pain and pressure in her butt. The nurse said "Well, that's a good sign!" The doctor came in, and she was at 10! wow!
They brought her into the OR at 1:15pm, we didn't expect anything until after 3pm, but they came in at about 2:20 and said "We have 2 babies!!"
Mom is doing very well, not too much pain, had a grade 3 tear from Emma (the smaller one who came out 2nd.) The first couple of times getting up to go the bathroom were rough, she was completely pale and shaking by the time she got back into bed, but by the 3rd time, she was fine.
These are my god-babies! I'm so in love!

P.S. I love your siggy pic with your pomeranians. I have a 5 year old Pom named Bailey. He's the best.
Thank you everybody! My cousin is doing wonderfully. I guess they did take the babies to the nursery last night between 1-7am so she could get some sleep. I guess she had a shakey Emma during the night, she needed some more food, so whether my cousin wasn't producing enough or Emma wasn't enough enough at that point, I'm not sure. I'm sure I'll get some more info tonight/tomorrow. She'd love to breastfeed w/out formula, but odds are, she will need the formula.
Oh-if you can, it will be SO much better post-partum! She was up and going to the bathroom on her own within hours. She got her IV out and was so much more comfortable. This will just be much much better, especially dealing with twins. We were praying this would work out, and it did, beautifully!
