SER: Toddler pillow

I really want to get a pillow for DD.  I think she'd love it.  If she's on her back, she has her hands behind her head.  Is she too young for a pillow?  Does anyone know of a toddler-friendly pillow that would fit in a crib and wouldn't take up a bunch of room?  Organic would be awesome.

  • I have no idea as to the age appropriateness of pillows.  I saw one in the One Step Ahead catalog this weekend and also considered getting it for C, but not sure.

  • It isn't organic, but I got Abby a travel pillow at Target for $4.99 that is the perfect size.

this is where we bought DD's pillow. its the same size as most toddler pillows and she loves it! we even got 2 extra pillow cases for sheet changes and laundry days. not EF but she loves it and its not too fluffy and has retained it shape and stuffing over the past year.

we gave DD a pillow in her crib around 11 months (for Christmas which is like 3 days before her b-day). she's been really good about using it properly since she used to steal the couch pillows and lay down with them properly as well.

  • We have one from BRU that is specifically for toddlers. It is sort of soft memory foam and the right size and dip (you know how those memory foam pillows have a dip in the middle) for their size. DS loves it.
  • I second the travel pillow from Target.  We've been using it since about 18 months.  I'm planning on making a pillow case for it soon.  I've been using a full size pillow case, but dd has started walking around with her pillow and she trips over the trailing case.

a pillow case won't be hard right?

  • DS actually steals my buckwheat pillow all.the.time.  It's his size.  The standard is not actually standard pillow size.  I think the "queen" size is normal pillow size which I want for my birthday this year.  The standard was my gift last year.  And then DS could have my current one.
