How often does your PT child pee?

So Anthony is pretty much completely potty trained..hooray!  We started the 3 day PT on Friday and he is doing great.  No accidents in two days and has pooped twice on the potty.  However, he seems to be holding his pee for a really long time.  Today was a bit better but the past two days he only peed like 2x/day!!  We tried pushing fluids, running water, letting him drink on the potty, etc.  I'm just worried he might end up with a bladder infection or something.  How often does your little one pee?

  • Wanna trade? j/k but my DD pees every hour if not more frequently. I'd settle for a happy medium.

  • We are only PTing for day right now but he is probably going 6 times a day, sometimes more liquid than others.  And the most he held it is 6 hours but that was when we were out and he refused to go but when we were leaving we put him on the portable one and he went.  And he tells us when he has to go or he just goes and then yells for us, he rarely will go when we ask him too but are still asking so that he has the reminder since it is only 2 weeks old.

  • DS pees apx every 3 hrs
  • Not often enough.  He holds it (especially when he's playing intensely) and has just recently (two weeks into it) started refusing to go on the potty.  He apparently prefers to pisss and poop in his big boy draw's!  Apparently regression isn't uncommon.  I think it sucks!

Glad to hear it's going well!

Gina goes constantly. At least once an hour. But it's still new, so I'm hoping it slows down. My cousins and I were just talking about this the other day. Kids are just different. Some go often, some don't.

  • I can relate.  I remember deperately trying to get my DS to pee.  The kid is a camel.  He pees twice, maybe 3 times a day.  He has done this for 2 years and has never had a bladder infection!

Thanks..it is improving.  today and peed 4x and he seems to be starting to understand how to "push it out" once he needs to pee.  I think in the beginning he didn't understand what muscle to squeeze.  Crossing my fingers for no regression. :)

Thanks..this gives me hope!! It's funny because when I was telling my sister about this tonight she reminded me that she and my mom are both "camels" who only pee like 3x/day. So maybe big bladders runs in the family!
  • At daycare she goes every 2 hours with the rest of the kids.

At home I'd guess every 3-4 hours.
