My DD (2.5 yrs) has a fever of 102 and is acting lethargic and grumpy. She doesn't want to eat anything, but she is drinking milk and a little water. She has been like this for 2 days. I have given her tylenol, but it doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot (there is about an hour in there that she seems a little better with each dose). Anyway, when would you call the doctor? I know she doesn't have anything that would require an antibiotic and she's not dehydrated, so they probably can't help right now. Just wondering what others think.
Thanks!
Re: When do you call the doctor?
Is the fever actually going down with the Tylenol?
If she's not dehydrated, I wouldn't worry. . . I am the biggest non-worrier about fevers though. 102 is not really that high for a child.
My DD had a fairly high fever (that was coming down a few degrees with Tylenol and she was not dehydrated) and I decided I was going to call the doctor the next day (it had been 4 days) and of course, the fever broke late that afternoon before I called).
