Sensitivity to noise

When Ben was really smally, he could sleep through anything and wasn't too sensitive to loud noises.

I've noticed he has gotten a lot more sensitive to sudden loud noises...dog barking, horn, and even DH's sneeze this morning. He has a 9 mo appt next week and I will ask the Pedi if it means anything, but just wondering if anyone else's LO is like this.

Re: Sensitivity to noise

  • I thought I read that they are used to loud constant noises when they are first born and that a quiet room is unsettling, and then eventually they get used to "normal" noise levels.  I could be hallucinating, though.  :)

  • It's a developmental phase/milestone. They now are aware of things that might be scary. Katen set off an alarm today and I think it scarred her for life. lol!
