So they say I'm dialated to 4 and having contractions. Right now I just feel "period cramps" and no change since yesterday. This is driving me crazy, Im getting so anxious wondering when I'm going to have full active labor!
The Dr. did an ultrasound and said the baby is fine and definitely big enough. They said they will not stop my labor and it's going to happen any time now..it just makes me anxious wondering when. Of course, I didn't want to have the baby this early but I can't do anything to stop it.

I don't know how many times it needs to be said... BABY'S SIZE DOES NOT TELL WHETHER BABY IS READY OR NOT! Unless an amnio was done to test the lungs, there is no way to tell. Most doctors won't stop labor after 34 weeks but that does not mean that baby is ready to come out yet... it just means that the risks of stopping labor outweigh the risk of being born early. Right now your baby would most likely get a free (though not really so) trip to the NICU.

Here we go again....
The babies size on an ultrasound is just an estimate first of all. They can be off a couple lbs either direction. Regardless of that, even IF the baby is a "big enough" that doesn't mean they are done developing and don't need those extra few weeks. It's not just about gaining weight the last few weeks. Hell, I'm considered full term and would still be a bit nervous about our son coming today as I know the last few weeks are very beneficial to his development.
Just b/c you are dilated doesn't mean you will go into labor any time soon.
Re: How long is this going to take!
This...
wow -- you are early still, too. i'd be ok waiting a little if i were you.
that being said, i've been 3cm+ for more than two weeks and no real contractions yet over here. so it could take weeks.
