Where did you register?

I am trying to decide between BBB, BRU, and Amazon's universal registry.

Does anyone know if I use Amazon's registry for BRU and BBB items, can people still go into the brick and mortar stores and buy the items? Will it deduct them from my registry? And can they print out the registry at the kiosks there?

we're registered at Babies R Us and BuyBuyBaby.

I registered at Target which was amazing and they give you a little gift bag with some diapers and other samples and then I am going to register at BRU

 

I have no idea about anything with Amazon??

So it is okay to register at more than one store? BRU has some patterns we like (high chair, PNP), and BBB has other patterns (Stroller, car seat, etc).

We registered at Target and BRU. As for your other questions, I'm not sure. I like that BRU shows majority of the product pictures online (I registered online, so maybe that's why also..). Target doesn't show half the stuff I registered for and says only available in store so people will really have to search..

I think that most people register at 2 stores. My main reason for registering at BRU was because the stroller and pnp I wanted is there. (We don't have many BRU in my area otherwise so I would assume it's easier for people to shop at Target).

We haven't done it yet, but I think we'll be registering at Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby.

 I don't know anything about registering at Amazon, sorry.

We're not registered yet but I'm pretty sure we'll register at BRU and Buy Buy Baby. I love BBB, but the only one in our area isn't as close to some family members, so we're going to register at both.

We registered at BuyBuyBaby and Walmart. BRU and Target were too expensive, and we have two BuyBuyBabies in the area where my family and friend live so they can go pick it up. Also Walmart does a lot of free site to store shipping so I'm not forcing guests to pay for shipping on top of the gift.

Of course.  You can do anything you want.

To answer your query about Amazon's Universal Registry...If I want to purchase an item from your registry (and it says available at BRU), I would click on the part of the registry where it says, "Getting this for X?" and you click it, and go through a gift reservation process.  This entails Amazon sending you an email, and when you get the email, you click a link to confirm your interest in purchasing that particular gift.  Then you go to the website or the brick-'n-mortar store and purchas the item, and it's already been "removed" from the registry.

This process is not hard for a technophile like myself, but if you're ONLY doing the universal wishlist through Amazon, there are a handful of people in your circle of family/friends who might not understand the process.  They won't be able to print out your Amazon list from BRU/BBB and that might throw people for a loop.

Thank you! This will be way too complicated for many of my/DH's relatives so I think we will stick to the brick and mortar stores. Thank you so much for explaining that.
