s/o: in the delivery room

I was in the delivery room with my sister. She had been in labor for over 24 hours. When it got time to push, she pushed for a really long time - probably over 2 hours. What I remember: she looked so beautiful and so strong and she was so so so happy once her son was born. That's the stuff that's memorable.

I saw a birth as well, and she was a stranger because I was interning at a hospital...and what I took from it, "she had a beautiful baby boy, and I was thankful for her allowing me to share her birth experience".....

My sisters were in the delivery room with me too, and when all was said and done, they were in tears from how amazing watching their nephew being born was, not worrying about the fact that I sh!t on the delivery table!

Lovely post. I witnessed 2 of my sisters 3 children being born and never once did anything cross my mind described in the other post. Maybe cause she's my sister - but I was so overwhelmed by the miracle I was witnessing, I can't imagine being so shrewd as to notice anything in that post.

I got to be in the room when my cousin had her baby boy last April... And all I remember was that we both were crying and so happy when he finally entered this world... I told her she had never looked more beautiful and did such a fantastic job. Funny, I can't recall ever even thinking about how she was shaved or if she smelled... but that's just me.

Definitely its an amazing life changing experience and very emotional! It does smell but that is the last thing you think of.

I was with a girl friend when she gave birth to her son. I remember really is watching the head come out and thinking "HOLY SH!T". Although I was watching a 10lbs baby come out of her I don't feel like I saw anything gross. I have no memory of any of the other nasty stuff that came out of her. It was truly beautiful to witness it.
