I feel like a cow...

So my DD was baptised today and I just downloaded the pictures and as I am looking at them, I really feel like a cow.  It's been 10 weeks since birth, and I have lost about 15 of the 35 pounds I gained.  I just can't get the motivation to work harder to lose the rest.  What did you ladies do to lose the weight?  I am walking about 4-5 times a week and breastfeeding, I just feel stuck...I am hungry all the time, so that doesn't help either...please help me!!!

Re: I feel like a cow...

  • Time and breastfeeding.  It took you 10 months to gain the weight, it'll happen when it's time.

  • I am having that problem right now, I am doing the Strech & Stroll at the Burnville Center & that seems to be helping. Also I am looking for Stroller walking buddies, would you be intrested at walking together?
  • Ugh, it's SO frustrating! I am 7 months PP and still have 12 pounds to get to my pre-pregnancy weight! In the long run, breastfeeding will help a TON in losing weight...I think in the beginning it's hard because you are extra hungry and you have to take in the extra calories to make sure your production stays up, so it's really hard to lose weight in the beginning....it's better to keep it on than lose your supply...I lost mine early :(

It took me a while to get motivated. I gaine 50 pounds :( I lost 23 the first 2 weeks, then just stayed there for months. I've been walking and started the Wii Active, which I love. I will be starting back up my yoga/pilates once I get more active.

Good Luck! Don't get down, it takes time and there's nothing wrong with that! It will come off once you can really focus on that.

  • I can't necessarily speak to the whole story because I chose to FF my LO, but I know your concerns and feel for you. I was so worried about losing the weight and putting on too much weight during pregnancy but it all ended up being ok.  Just remember it took 9months to gain it, so it'll take 9mo to lose it.
  • I'm really worried about this too.  I've already gained more than I should have this pregnancy and don't look forward to having to lose it all.  I've struggled with weight in recent years and lost 50 lbs before getting KU.  I'm not looking forward to having to go through that all again.
  • I hear you! I feel hungry and thirsty all the time! I walk and BF that's about it. And even though I'm down to my pre-preg weight, I'm not at my pre-preg size because of that extra "mommy stuff" if you know what I mean.  So it's a work in progress but I feel pretty low in the self-esteem area.
