is making me laugh because that is one of the most talked about things on here-gotta find out at the ultrasound if it is a boy or a girl-and 9 times out of 10 it is so the person can prepare the nursery, the clothing etc-yet i was reading that people don't want pink for a girl etc. too funny.
Re: all the talk about gender stereotyping
You can have things that are more feminine or more masculine without being straight up girly pink and boyish blue.
Is there a lot of talk about gender stereotyping? I don't see much, just a smattering of people who dislike the color pink - usually they're going for purple instead.
We're not doing a gendered nursery, but I'm still really looking forward to finding out the sex of the baby. It will just be fun to know and not have to call baby "it" anymore.
ha! I didn't want to find out. DH couldn't hold back and thus blabbed it to everyone.
Doesn't matter to us. Our room is yellow, our clothes are baby.
That's the theme we're going with.
"Wearing his BING CROSBY clothes and crooning...buuuh buuh buuuh"
I found out the gender to prepare myself. I've never changed a boy's diaper and my DH and I would have had to have the circumcision discussion. It is just being prepared not about buying pink and blue. We wanted to pick a name and talk to her and get to know her. That's why I found out not so that I could make sure that I am ready to train her to be a little princess and hate everything with bugs or dirt etc.
Why is it so weird to know you are having a girl but not dress her head to toe in pink. I don't see how knowing what you are having means that you have to conform to gender stereotypes.
