how long were you off bcp before ttc or getting pregnant?

trying to decide if I should refill my pill prescription or not, we'll probably start ttc at the end of the year and I think my pills will run out in about 7 weeks.  refills are 4-5 packs at a time.

I got pg the second cycle off bcp with #1.  I charted the first month off and knew when to expect to O the following month.  With #2 we were pulling and praying....and my dates were off so here she sits!

We started trying the first cycle off BCP, not really expecting it to happen the first cycle. Here we are 8 cycles later and I'm still not pg. GL

Got pg the 1st cycle off bcp w/ both my kids. Happened much faster than I expected.?

#1 was unplanned, no BCP

#2 first cycle off BCP

#3 second cycle off BCP, first cycle TTC

My OB-GYN always recommends waiting until you are ready to start TTC to stop BCPs.  He said that for some, that can be a super-fertile window of opportunity for TTC.  I have followed his advice with the last 4 pregnancies & here is how it worked out:

Baby #2 (DD #1)- got pg my first cycle off of BCP's in 8 1/2 years!!

Baby #3 (DD #2)- got pg my first cycle off of BCP's

Baby #4 (which I m/c)- got pg my second cycle of BCP's

Baby #5 (DS #2)- got pg 5 months after m/c  (had not been on BCP's since 2 months before baby #4 was conceived, though).

As you can see, I think I was definitley one of the women was was SUPER fertile coming right off of BCP's!

It was cycle #5 for me.  I m/c and then my cycles were messed up.  It took 9 cycles after that to get pg with DD.  I'm glad that you posted this.  I just stopped taking mine so we can TTC #2.  Hoping I'm one of the super fertile women and get pg the first time.  GL!
