It's supposed to be a portable bassinet type thing to place the sleeping baby in and then you can move them from room to room. I don't like them because I feel like you're either leaving the baby on the ground (bugs?) or placing them maybe on a surface too high (countertop etc) or just not safe like the couch- either way I don't think they're safe or very practical in the long run.

Ah...okay; I kinda figured that's what it was, but wasn't sure. I'm not too fond of placing the baby on the floor...or a sofa for that matter (scared they'll fall off?) Thanks

They are kind of cute - some of them do have raised lift holder thingies apparently (most do not have top visors though)
