Stupid Doctors!

DH's doctor wasn't in, but the on call doctor refuses to write him a script for antibiotics, even though our DOH says we all need to be on antibiotics because DS has whooping cough. The doctor is saying he's not comfortable because 11 month olds don't get it, even though they have the report from the DOH saying otherwise.?

Ok, I understand its not that common, especially considering DS WAS vaccinated against it, but I got a call from the state DOH saying that's what DS has, as well as had them fax me the result showing the positive 5 day test, even though we were told the 24 hour test was negative.

My aunt has had contact with the baby and DOH said she should be on antibiotics too, as well as any others that have had close contact with DS. My aunt's doctor wouldn't write a script for antibiotics and made her go to the hospital and wait in triage for 2 hours to get the antibiotics! After she had already been sitting in the waiting room for two hours, the nurse asked her to THEN wear a mask.

Thankfully, I think DS's pediatrician is calling in a script for DH.?

That's annoying.  Hope you kiddo feels better soon - and that you all get the meds you need!

sorry. i hate all of your doctors they have seriously put you through hell. whats wrong with them? hope u all feel better soon.

That is so irritating.  I was exposed while I was pregnant and my OB kind of freaked a bit.  After talking to my GP about what antibiotics I should take and conferring with OB they would be ok, they finally called them in.  I think it was more of a case that the OB wasn't sure which antibiotics covered whooping cough. Not exactly your run of the mill pregnancy complication.  That is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous.  Yeah for your pedi!

YAY! My pedi is calling in an antibiotic script for DH. At least one of these doctors we've been dealing with is not stupid.
