TTC after 35

Hello and intro.

Hello ladies.  I've been lurking for a while now and thought I should come on in and introduce myself.  My name is Katherine.  DH is 33 and I'm 41.  Yes I married a younger man.  Wink.  I have a 12 year old DS from a previous marriage. We've been TTC for 3 months and I'm starting to get nervus.  This is my second month charting.  Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.

Re: Hello and intro.

  • Hello and welcome to a great board. I am 38 and MH is 31. So I hear ya :)

If  you are already charting that's great. Do you use OPKs too?

And perhaps you might want to put a link to your chart in your sig, that's always helpful if you want the wise people here to give you advice/comments on your chart.

    GL!

  • Welcome & Good Luck!!!!  Your dog is TOOOOO cute!!!

I'm 41 also.  If you haven't already, you should read Taking Charge of Your Fertility (TCOYF).

  • No I'm not using OPKs yet.  Yes I've been reading TCOYF.  According to FF I did ovulate last month.  I was now BCP for 12 years and I know it can take a while for your body to regulate. This is my 4th cycle off bc. How long would you wait before going to the Dr.?

  • Welcome and good luck.  This board is super supportive.

Oh, and I married to a younger man too! I'm 39 and DH is 30.

  • Welcome!  What a sweet doggie.

I think it's reasonable to see a doctor after 6 months of TTC.  GL and hope you get your BFP before you need to do that!

  • Hello and welcome to the board!

    I'm seeing a 'married a younger man' theme here :-) I am 36, DH is 26.

And I LOVE your dog. I have always wanted one.

  • Welcome!  Charting is a great place to start CBE digitial OPKs are my favorite, no guessing if you got your LH surge. I also like the CBEFM, you use FMU instead of having to hold it like an OPK.   And like Baze said if you don't get a BFP in 6 months it's time to see the doctor. Good Luck!

  • Hello and welcome to a great board! I love using Fertility Friend for charting, as it makes everything simple and easy to read. I also like the CBE digital OPKs. DH likes it when I tell him there's a smiley face. Ha! We went to the doctor after six months of having well-timed sex. A few months after that it was off to the RE and lots of testing. Good luck!
