We're going to Denver for a week next month to visit MIL. Because she's a miserable old bat, I insist that we have activities planned for every day.
So far, I'm planning on the Denver Zoo, the aquarium and Tiny Town.
Anyone have other suggestions or reasons why we should skip any of the above activities?
TIA!
Re: What to do in Denver?
Wish I could help you. When I lived there, I didn't have kids so I never paid attention to all the fun stuff. I do remember a botanical gardens, if your DD likes that kind of thing.
And I am really jealous you are going there. I can't wait to get back out there :-)
what's tiny town?
the aquarium is awesome- on the $$ side ( for what it is...) but its a good time! (2 and under are free, though)
um...the botanical gardens are super nice- great for kids, duck ponds places to run...
we have nice malls...cherry creek (central), flat irons (north) and Park Meadows (south) and theres a big outlet mall too (colorado Mills) that is pretty central, if a little west...
mall = fun.
I think Tiny Town is out in Morrison--yes?? Zoo and Aquarium are great. There's also a Children's Museum right next to the Aquarium.
The Botanic Gardens has a dinosaur exhibit going on through September. My DD loved it. There's also a newish play gym called "Little Monkey Bizness" near Cherry Creek. Butterfly Pavillion is in Westminster.
I live in Boulder County so I know more stuff to do here. Boulder is not too far, though. Pearl St. Mall is fun to walk on with kids--there are little playspaces along the whole mall. There's a children's museum here in Lafayette that's good. We spend a lot of time walking on open space trails. Boulder Reservoir is the "beach" and perfect for younger kids.
Oh and Pearl Street in Boulder. Crazy street people and great people watching plus cool restaurants and shops. Walk around the University of Colorado campus afterward (it's beautiful- I know I'm a bit biased but it really is).
Tiny Town is just that, a tiny town and is fun. I haven't been since I was 10 but I always think about bringing my kids when we come home to visit.
