Pregnant after 35

Hello...I am a newbie...

I just stumbled across thebump.com doing research on inductions.

I guess I need to say "hi" to the High Risk board and the 3rd Trimester board since I fall into all three!

Thanks for letting me join!

Cheers and best wishes to all!!

  • Welcome! Too bad you didn't find us about 33 weeks ago but better late than never!   Are you being induced? Why are you considered high risk?

  • Well I am considered high risk, per my OB, due to GD and my age. I didn't realize what a big deal the GD diagnosis was going to be and how much it was going to effect our life Sad

My last appt at 36 weeks my midwife told me that they won't let me go past 39 weeks because of the GD. Our next appt is tomorrow with our OB so I am curious about what our game plan will be.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like baby is getting ready for the great big world. He hasn't dropped, the midwife couldn't reach my cervix, and I have very few contractions, real or BH! So I am really curious to see what happens tomorrow.

  • Oh yeah! Since I have do not have any energy for anything but sleeping, I have been spending a lot of time on thebump. I love reading everyone's experiences and all the great questions and answers! I have learned a lot!!

  • Welcome!  My friend had GD with both her pregnancies and I really felt bad for her.  Both her babies came 7 weeks early - but they were healthy and fine (7 pounds each, roughly).
  • Welcome! You sound like me. I'm a cross-poster too. This is the best board by far though Wink

I also visit(ed) the multiples board, the pregnancy loss board, high risk board and now the new parenting over 35 board.
