NER: bug bites?

I *think* DS has bug bites all over.  They're basically wherever clothes wouldn't cover and they're raised, like pimples, and we just got home from camping on Monday night.  I didn't notice them on him until yesterday though, but I'm covered in mosquito bites as well.  I'm wondering if they're maybe not bites because they're all over his face and I didn't see a single one until yesterday.

Would you: treat as bug bites ( use a little tea tree oil on them) or would you call the doc just to make sure?
