In laws are gone!

Here are my favorite IL moments from their visit:

1. Fixing lunch for MIL while her feet were up on the couch and she was reading. I asked her to watch DS while I handled lunch. I walked in on her with DS screaming and her still reading.

2.  After nursing asking MIL if she would watch DS while I pumped. Her response? "No, I am napping." Hell - I would LOVE to have a nap!

3.  FIL offered to change a diaper (nice)  if I showed him how but when I told him he needed to affix the diaper tighter or it would fall off he responded "Is that so?" He continued to put the diapers on too big and DH and I dealt with the diapers leaking the whole trip.

I realized I really like them when it is just via email and the phone.  They are much nicer people at a distance.

BOO! for them being so unhelpful!

They are gone, now you and DH can concentrate on being the little family w/ LO and doing things your way.  Now tell DH you need that well deserved nap!

That is amazing about your inlaws.  But they are gone and now you can enjoy your time with the LO!!  And since you won't be waiting on them, maybe you will get a nap in.

Wow....sounds like their intent was just to come visit and see the baby and not to visit to HELP OUT (obviously!).  Just WOW!  Glad you all survived!

You are a better woman than I am.  They would've lasted all of about 5 hours in our house acting like that.  I have no patience when it comes to rudeness~

Sorry that your IL's were so clueless and actually made more work for you. Distance can be a good thing for a relationship.

Wow - I have to say, I have a whole new level of love and respect for my in laws!  I hope they enjoyed their stay at the M.Amy Inn, and won't be back for a visit soon!  Get some rest - sounds like you deserve it!

Bleargh, how rude!  At least your father-in-law made an effort, even if he didn't do it all that well.  Your mother-in-law sounds really self-absorbed!  I'm happy for you that you survived the visit!
