Women who chart, c'mere please

My copy of TCOYF is packed, and I'm pretty sure that googling is a bad idea. So...

off the top of your head, or if you care so much as to look it up, is having a fairly short amount of time in the first half of your cycle (before you ovulate) anything to be concerned about? I usually ovulate around CD15, and this month it was very obviously CD 12. I know short LP can be a sign of problems, but anyone know if I should add this to my list of stuff to mention to my doc at my last appointment with her?

Re: Women who chart, c'mere please

  • i believe early ovulation is only a prob if you're not aware of it and timing sex to be around the standby of 'day 14' and miss your window.  as far as successful pregnancy though i don't think it matters how close to your period you O, as long as your LP is long enough to allow for implantation.  :-)

  • You can mention it, but I am pretty sure it is the LP length that is most important.  As long as you know when you are ovulating and that you are ovulating, I don't think the CD matters (maybe if it was CD3 there could be an issue).

    Good luck!

  • I second that. I have only ever heard of a short LP being a problem because it doesnt give the egg a chance to burrow in enough I believe. In non-technical terms anyway (-:

I think you are okay, and the first poster is correct. Its only a problem if you are unaware and BD'ing at the wrong times (CD 14, etc).

  • Thanks women! We're TTA, so it's a real good thing we don't just assume CD11 is my last safe day.

And the biggest problem I see with a CD3 ovulation is that I'd have my period 24 times a year!

  • Could it just be stress related?
