I do like that seat for exactly what you see - eating outside. But it does have limitations. We used it a lot before he was able to sit in a restaurant high chair (it was easy to stuff it with blankets and support him in it) and some restaurant tables aren't sturdy enough for it. And we took it on vacation last year thinking we could use it as a high chair, but it was a pedestal table so that didn't work either.
As for cleaning, no, I don't think it's easy to clean. In fact, I've never tried. I don't even know if the cloth part comes off, I'm sure it does but the idea of trying scares me. So I just shake out the crumbs, use a wet cloth on anything that warrants it and put it away.
It's definitely been used, but we get more use out of his Fisher Price travel booster seat with the tray. That's what we pack for trips to the grandparents, for vacations in a condo, etc.
