What happened to my easy sleeper?!?

We used a spin off of the Ferber method when my DS was 9 months old.  He's been incredibly easy since then and, 9 times out of 10, would ask to go into his bed as soon as he got into his room, would lay down or babble for a little while and go to sleep on his own.  He's always co-napped but it never seemed to make a difference.  Now he fights bedtime with huge temper tantrums.  He's coming down from a cold and did sleep one night in our bed because he was so miserable and wouldn't sleep.  He screams as soon as we walk him toward his room and runs toward ours or toward the living room.  I don't know what to do to get him back on track and loving bedtime again. Any tips?

Re: What happened to my easy sleeper?!?

  • We have to re-Ferberize after any disruptions to his normal routine.  So, we do it after sicknesses, teething, and travel.

It's easier the second time around.
