If your DC had a cold...

(not the flu)...would you give him/her Ibuprofin?  DH and I are having a semi-debate.

Re: If your DC had a cold...

  • If DC has a fever but I usually give Tylenol for fevers.

    .
  • If he had a fever and seemed uncomfortable.

  • Sorry, forgot to add no fever.  Just a cough and runny nose it looks like.

  • Then probably not.  I'd run the humidifier.  If DC was too uncomfortable to sleep, I might give them something.

  • fever? usually tylenol, if it does not help or fever is back up quickly then motrin.

    no fever - nothing usually.

  • If he was clearly uncomfortable, I would.

I may not be the best person to ask because I gave Miles some Motrin tonight because he *may* be getting his two year molars. He was just incredibly cranky when we put him to bed and cried for about ten minutes before I gave it to him. He never cries at bedtime (he complains for a minute or two, but never actually cries).

  • Only if s/he had a fever and I'd probably do Tylenol before trying Motrin.

  • No, not for cold symptoms. Only with a fever that made him/her uncomfortable.
