Anyone taking Metformin and clomid?

Finally met with RE today was diagnosed with PCOS and possible insulin resistance. I am going for more blood work tomorrow.  If blood work confirms he wants me to start on metformin and clomid.  Just wondering what others experiences are.  Are you on a diabet diet as well?

I am on both.  Doc just says to watch what I eat and excercise when I can.  I don't notice many symptoms from either drug.  Once in awhile I get a little grumpy after my 5 days of Clomid, but I think thats just my personality and not the medicines fault.

Kelin -- Did you start Met and Clomid at the same time?  I'm wondering if anyone has had any success regulating their cycle w/ just Met, but I can't seem to find anyone that didn't start Clomid and Met together.

I started Met two moths before Clomid, so it had a chance to get into my system.  I am told to watch what I eat but not on strict diet.  My cycle did regulate with the Met along with cleared up my acne, and gave me fewer menses cramps.  I took Clomid 50mg cycle #1 -annovulation, Cycle #2 100mg ovulation but BFN, currently on cycle #3 CD6.  GL!

 Oh ya Clomid makes me super moody and killer hot flashes, FYI

I was on metformin for 4 years when I was previously TTC.  It did nothing to regulate my periods by itself.  Once I threw the Clomid in, things started to happen.

Thanks for the info... that's pretty much what I'm afraid of.  I'm hoping that since I was o'ing before the Met will tip me back in the right direction.  The waiting 12 weeks part is the part that I'm not so interested in... blah!

I totally hijacked your post... I'm sorry about that.

I'm not on both, so I can't help in that regard and I just started Met.  The side effects that I read about Met were kinda scary, but I'm doing just fine so far.  Good luck with your bloodwork.
