Odd isn't it? i had to go to the bathroom and stick that lil qtip up there and all around... just seems weird to me...

i had one done when they checked me for preterm labor in june... and they did it..

anyone else have to do this themselves lol? i hope i didnt screw it up

Haha, YES! I thought I was the only one. Is it a military clinic thing? I saw earlier that you are seeing navy doctors. I was also afraid of doing it wrong

I think they've actually done studies that prove the test is just as accurate if the patient does it herself.  Some docs leave it up to the patients, or at least to the ones they feel are competent enough to do it themselves

I didn't have to do it myself at Portsmouth.  It does seem a little odd to have to do it yourself.

I saw your post about your DH going out of town this morning.  I hope that he comes back soon.  Also FWIW, the prepared childbirth class at NMCP sucks, so you really aren't missing out.  The newborn care class was pretty good.  I went to that one by myself.

I think I will be doing it myself at my 36 week appt. I am glad because I am more comfortable with that, but I am a little nervous I will do it wrong! I guess I will just make sure that I really get a good idea of what I need to do lol!

Yep, I got to do it myself...I actually preferred it that way!

did mine myself.  Better then having someone else do it they will see enough of me in delivery.

Didn't have to do it myself, but as a nurse I can say unless you decided to rub the swab around the toilet seat or something theres pretty much no way you can screw it up!
