Pregnant after 35

Lower back ache

DH and I moved this weekend.  I didn't lift any furniture but apparently I did overdo it with the boxes. :(  I was in bed most of the day Sunday and yesterday and am back at work today.  It is still killing me.  I'm taking Tylenol which doesn't seem to help.

A friend suggested bengay patches.  I assume something like that or maybe icyhot are ok to use?

Re: Lower back ache

  • Not sure - but I know you don't want to use direct heat (heating pad/hot tub, etc.)

Take it easy - hope you feel better soon!

  • hi there, your post just freaked me out a bit.  i've been having lower back aches for the past 2 days and have been using a heating pad for relief.  (i didn't move boxes, tho!)  so, after reading pp replies, i quick called my dr and she said the heating pad is fine. as long as i'm not bleeding (which i'm not).  it's not the same as a hot tub.  she said it was probably due to pressure from something now being in the uterus and not getting your period.  maybe you should check with your dr, too?  hth!

  • Considering how you're only 7w along... I'd be super careful.  Call your doc rather than try to self-medicate.   It seems if something's going to go wrong, it often happens in those very early weeks.

  • Thanks ladies.  I haven't taken or used anything else besides the Tylenol.  If it's not better by tomorrow morning I'll call the Dr and see what they can suggest.

Sorry - didn't mean to freak you out!  I have one of those chair back massagers and I was told I could use the massager but not to turn on the heat function.  I guess everyone is different!
