Co-Sleeping

Did anyone use the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper (Regular or mini-size)

Due to space issues, I am looking for something to get DD for when she arrives. We co-selpt in our bed with DS# 2 for 7 months then transitioned him into his crib. We didn't use anything that kept him seperate from us or that attached to the bed like this.

I have a king size bed and DH works the night shift 4-5 nights out of the week, so then it's only me in this huge bed. I am wondering if I should get something like that co-sleeper so that she has her own space, or if I should get one of those smaller things that actually goes in the bed with me ( like THIS).

Any advice, tips, suggestions aprpeciated :o)

  • We had a full size co-sleeper but she never slept in it.  It was just easier for us to have her in bed with us...especially when it came to nursing.

  • We used the mini co-sleeper and I absolutely loved it.  I could never fall asleep with her in the bed with us, but with the co-sleeper she was close enough, but in her own space so I didn't have to worry.

    it doesn't work yet

  • I had the arms reach mini co sleeper. It was great! I also have a king size bed. I had it right next to my bed and it was sooo convenient and grat to just look over and stare at dd. She out grew it by 6 months though.

The thing that I am torn about the mini & regular sized one is that she will outgrow it so fast. Plus, what am I going to do with the mini after she outgrows it? The regular one can be used as a P&P, but then I worry that it will be too big and block off my entire side of the bed.

  • i cant look at shopping links at work, but we had the thing you put in bed with you.  it worked pretty well, but we only used it for about a week because that plus me and DH in a queen sized bed did NOT work out.  i loved it though!
  • I really want one of these when we have # 2 ... basically because it's portable, so I could move DC while he/she naps into different areas of the house.

That being said, we had something similar to the Snuggle Nest when DD was tiny and liked it a lot.  Once she got bigger we just took it out of the bed and she slept in the bed with us.

  • It actually fold us pretty slim kinda like a small child's umbrella seat. It fit in a little corner in the back of my closet. It doesn't take up space at all.
