Pregnant after 35

I may be MIA for a few days....

My boss asked this morning when we can go over the work schedule for the rest of the year.  I am an event planner and set up meetings, events/parties, and conventions.  Most of the time, I work about 2 months ahead, because of all of the prep work involved.  She wants things set up through December!!  That way it will make it easier on the company and my replacement when I go on maternity leave.  (I don't even get paid for maternity leave, so I won't be gone long, maybe a month.)  I have the rest of this week to get things somewhat squared away, even though I plan to be here until I go into labor.

Problem is, I am addicted to the Bump.  I am going to try to stay focused on work, so I may not be here as much, but I will be sure to let you ladies know of any baby changes.  Wish me luck!

  • Good luck, from a fellow Bump addict!

I'm hoping that I'll be MIA soon, but for another reason. Wink

Faux - good luck staying away...I have a hard time not "checking in" periodically...even at my most busiest!  Its terrible.   I am primarily a lurker so I try to be quick!

Robyn - glad to see you made it past your 8/1 deadline!  Will they induce you after a certain date?

  • Aw comme on, girl. Sneaking in a few times a day is good for you. I'm the bad friend, by the way...the one who is exerting peer pressure :)

Well, the good news is you'll be busy so hopefully it will make this week fly by for you!

  • We'll miss seeing you, Shelly!  But, I'm sure it will help you be able to relax a bit to getting all that done ahead of time.  Boy - through December, huh?  I am not an event planner, but I do plan a lot of meetings/events/banquets for the company I work for so I know all that goes into it.  December has got to be your busiest month, right?  Wowza...well - like I said, it'll be nice to get a lot of that done ahead of time so it's not quite as crazy when that time rolls around.  Good luck!

Not to take over Shelley's topic, but yes.  I have my 40 week visit today and I'm told the doctor will schedule an induction for 41 weeks. Of course I could deliver before then?and I hope I do.

  • I promise not to say anything even remotely amusing until you return.

  • Pretty sure you'll sneak in for a few quick visits.  the Bump is so addictive!  Good luck with tying up stuff at work.  I will be doing that in a few weeks myself and secretly, I'm looking forward to having someone else take over for a bit!
  • I'll miss seeing your posts but I know it will be impossible to resist the lure of the Bump Wink

Robyn, I am crossing my fingers for you that you'll see your LO soon!

  • I'm glad you let us know. I would start to get nervous if I didn't see you for a few.

Tell that slave driver of yours to cool it with the work! Angry
