Removing Ear Wax...

I need to remove ear wax from DS #1's ears... the doctor said something about putting oil in his ears to remove the wax, but I am nervous about doing that... I have a lot of ear problems and I am fearful of doing damage to his ears.

Can anyone walk me through how you remove ear wax from your DC's ears?

I've done oil with DS, just a couple drops.  Is there a reason you have to remove it?  Sticking anything into his ears isn't a good idea.

What type of oil do you use, how much and how do you insert it in the ear?

I just used olive oil but you can use vegetable oil.  We have droppers but I forgot about them and tried to squeeze the drops off a paper towel.  It was the first time I did it on DS so I just used about 3 drops.

Just to add, I'm not really sure of any problems that oil could cause to your DS's ears.  It's definitely more likely you could injure his ears by trying to use a q-tip or something else to get out the wax.  HTH!

Debrox will work.  It's in the ear section of any pharmacy.

There's an ear drop at the pharmacy called Debrox, use that.
