i'm probably deciding against it, but i get the feeling i'm in the minority...???

Re: anyone NOT getting/didn't get the NT scan?

  • I didn't get one.  My doctor never brought it up because we discussed having the amnio right up front and I had decided I would get the amnio.

  • We didn't and the dr didn't push it.  We're having a level II u/s and they will check out things then.  It's a personal decision and there is no right or wrong with the testing.
  • We did not - but not for lack of trying.  We actually had one scheduled, but there was a mix up with the doctor's office (they sent me to the wrong office).  They are a very busy office and by the time they were able to reschedule me, I had an emergency u/s due to some bleeding and the u/s tech told me my baby looked fine and not to worry about it (she does nt scans for other offices).  I will not opt for it next time around (if there is a next time)

  • We did, and I have to say, I'm glad we did.  Aside from the fact that it gave me reassurance that the baby was still there - especially given that we had a long, hard road to get here and my body is giving me no other clues that I'm pregnant - it was simply great to see the developing fetus, gave DH a chance to get excited tangibly, and some u/s pictures to share.  It was covered for me, so why not?

  • We decided not to have it done. It was a personal choice based on several factors.
