Thought I would post this here. I also posted on 0-6 mth board.
I'm expecting baby #2 in about a month and I'm trying to make sure I have everything for my recovery once we return home from the hospital. I've got everything ready for the baby, so now I can think about me. With my first baby, I had major healing issues, which caused me extreme discomfort. Are there any products (perineal sprays/ointments) that worked well for you guys. I've got dermaplast and look forward to getting epifoam and pain killers in the hospital. Besides this, and doing sitz baths, this is all I know to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to have the same problems this time around!
Re: Healing Tips After Having Baby
I don't know if I'll be much help but I requested additional ice packs before I left and used them a few days after I left the hospital. I actually healed pretty quickly but have no idea if that was one of the reasons. Couldn't hurt to try since they'll give them to you before you leave.
Not medicine related... but if you have multiple levels I found having a "health" basket (packed with the spray/water bottle, pads, ice packs, extra clothes, and creams/medicine, etc.) both up and downstairs to be quite helpful. Limits your walking around and carrying items throughout the house.
