since the babies have been sleeping through the night, i haven't been feeding/pumping in the middle of the night. i tandem feed them in the morning, pump on my way to work (only gives me an once if i'm lucky), then pump again at lunchtime, then feed DD when I get home. I don't tandem feed them because I don't feel like I'm full enough to feed them both. i do pump at night before going to bed but now that i'm back to work and skipping that middle of the night feeding, i've seen my supply take a dip...is it too late? i'm drinking a lot of water, good proteins, etc...
Re: possible to increase supply at 5 and 1/2 mos?
I was successful at increasing my supply quite a few times over the past year. It definitely took a dip any time he went from waking to STTN or if I cut my calories or increased exercise drastically.
The best thing to do is pump and pump and pump some more. I would usually pump every two hours when possible (I know it's not when you're at work, but when you are home,) pump after every feeding and I would pump each boob twice per session, like LRLR. You'd be surprised how much more milk you can squeeze out just a few minutes later. Also, drank the mother's milk tea and for some reason a pizza pig out in the middle of it all helped. I think it's the carbs.
Anyway, when I was trying to increase my supply it would sort of take over my life for those few days, but it was always worth the hassle in the end.
