Anyone have a self-scratcher?

We recently moved to a more wooded area and DS has been getting a lot mosquito/insect bites.  He seems to be addicted to scratching at them.  Most of them heal quickly, but there are certain ones that he keeps picking at, sometimes until they bleed.  We put pants on him for naps and at night, but it is too hot for him to wear pants during the day.  We put Neosporin and anti-itch cream on the bites,but it doesn't seem to help much.  I would put band-aids on them, but I know he would just pull them off. 

Anyone dealing with this and have any tips?

DD has eczema, and she scratches it if she has a flare-up.  I keep her nails really short, and that usually keeps her from breaking the skin.  California baby makes a bug repellent that's safe for babies.  You could try that, too.
