1. Not yet; my mother is still considering moving out here, especially after my tear filled rant about money and how we were going to have to sell the baby on the black market because we will not be able to afford it and what were we thinking?! Also because we are looking for home daycares and August seems too early to ask someone to reserve a spot, since we likely won't be using it until March. But I'm thinking of calling around soon to get my name out there.
2. We plan to sign up after 20 weeks. If you are looking for a natural birth type class, now is the time to sign up, since these usually fill up earlier and are longer.

1. I called the daycare closest to my house and asked if there is a waiting list. They said no, so I thought I could hold off for a while on this. Maybe next month.
2. I will be signing up for the childbirth and bf classes on Wednesday (our hospital has a baby fair with this and other info each month). I hope to take the class when I'm between 34 and 35 weeks.

I'm not doing either because 1) I am very lucky and have family to watch him and 2) I'm not interested in the birth classes, but I know most people start looking into this at around 16-25 weeks. I'm a planner and made my decisions back around the 16 week.
The daycare thing is definately a priority because some of them fill very quickly and have long waiting lists of 6 months or more. For the childbirth classes, I'd consult your doctor to find out which ones he recommends or if there are any offered through your hospital and go from there.

1. It depends on the demand in your area, and whether you want in-home or center care. There are places here that you pretty much have to get on the waiting list before the pee is dry on the stick! We arranged for DD's care (though we ended up not using it) when I was around 16/17 weeks. We got turned away from 2 of the places we tried interviewing
2. Prepared chilbirth classes (like through an OB office or hospital) would probably be taken in your third tri. Method classes should start mid to late 2nd tri (the more practice time you have, sometimes the better).
easjer - we talk about selling the baby all the time, lol.
There is an insane number of daycares in our city - there is a sign for either a center or home care on almost every street, it's crazy. So I'm thinking they probably don't have long waits. But I suppose it's worth a call just to see if there are waiting periods...
The childbirth class I want to take is through the hospital - that may be a little crowded, so maybe we will call soon about that.
Not worried about daycare won't need it till spring of 2010.
We just started taking out birthing and baby classes last week at 27 weeks. which was the baby basics class we have breast feeding this week and our private tour of?the?hospital and our prenatal/lamaze?classes start at the end of august I'll be about 31 weeks when those start and will get done when I'm about 36 weeks. ?
1. We are using teh daycare option through my DH's school. It is the epitome of a perfect situation for us - convenient, low cost and DH's office is 50 yards away.
2. We signed up for classes last month and they will start in September when I am 31 weeks.
1. Daycares: When we were TTC. I put out names on the waitlist and then went back with DH when I was about 8 weeks for another tour and change the date when we needed daycare. There is a year waitlist on some of those we wanted and 8 months on others, so I wanted to be sure we were in good standing to get daycare since we really need it when I go back at 8 weeks.
2. Classes, we signed up for them early in the pregnancy but are not taking them until around 7 months. I would take them a little later but the holidays will get in the way.
1, around 20 weeks, and it was too late, I'm on a waiting list and she may not get off it before I go back to work. SO I will have to rely on my parents, his parents, and my vacation time to get us through...

I'm signed up for a class that will begin around 30 weeks. I would look into signing up soon- our fill up really quickly.
I would ask 3rd tri also- I know some daycares are very hard to get into, so I don't know how early is too early to find one.

I'm going to stay at home once the baby is born.
I signed up for the childbirth classes at 19 weeks but don't actually start them until 3rd tri. I was told they can fill up early though!

1. I talked to one around week 10 that I still need to go visit, maybe I'll do that today!
2. I signed up for one about two weeks ago that will start in early November and end the second week of December (EDD 1/27)
