Dallas-Fort Worth Babies

I just need to vent for a sec.

It's August now.  I HATE August.  Not only is it hotter than two rats screwing in a wool sock outside ... it means that DH is having to work a LOT.  I absolutely loathe back to school time.  It always ends up meaning zero time with my husband, which means zero help with the kiddo, and zero help around the house ... which in turn takes a lovely little toll on our marriage.  Imagine that.

Ever since he went on that business trip to Lubbock last week I've been exhausted.  He's working 50+ hours a week now, getting home at 11, 12, 1 o'clock at night.  I pretty much had the baby all weekend, tried to do laundry and clean, and every morning when I woke up, there would be a lovely mess to clean up after my husband got home at 1230 at night, ate something, threw the dishes into the sink and fell asleep.  I'm on my period, and oh, he took MY car to work to save on gas, and left me with his hugeass truck this morning.  Guess how much fun it is to get a baby in and out of the back seat of an extended cab, in heels?

GAH.  I want it to be September already.

Um, no. The sitaution would suck no matter what, but there is a lot going on there that can be controlled. He needs to pick up after himself and leave you your own car. It's hard enough dealing with the baby pretty much on your own without throwing in these extra "obstacles".

September will be here before you know it.

  • I'm in a similiar situation except the period and the ext. cab truck. ((hugs))
  • August does suck. I'm sorry.

The whole back to school thing messes us up some too. So many people want to take their kids to get their teeth cleaned before school starts. DH's office takes walk ins. The week before school starts he works 7-8 Monday- Saturday. I am so thankful we don't have to go through that again this year.

  • I'm sorry :o(  August is not my favorite month either.  If you wanna come over for dinner this week with Jack and give boys some playtime and us some mom time, that's cool with me :o)  Thursday works best depending on your schedule
  • ((Hugs!!))  So sorry!  Hope your day gets better as it goes on!  And you're not alone.

For me it's the end of the month and the middle of the month when my husband has to close numbers.  For days he works from 7:30 am till 10:30 pm, the kids (ages 4 1/2 and 2 1/2) never get to see him and on those days I am stuck at home because currently we only have one car.

He only gets one day off a week as it is so Monday through Saturday he does nothing around the house leaving me to raise the kids, clean the house, run eldest to soccer camp, play with the kids, do lawn work, etc...all while being pregnant.

I know I am SAHM, but sometimes even I need a break and a little bit of help every now and then.

  • Ugg, I am so sorry! We all seem to be having it rough these days. At least there is an end in sight after August though. I know how you feel about dreading months. My dh is a property adjuster and everytime it rains we squeal b/c we know a ton of work is ahead. At the office for him and me doing everything around the house. It sucks. GL ::HUGS::
  • That sucks, I'm sorry. We also have an ext cab truck and I HATE taking Colton in it since it's such a PITA to get him in and out.

  • Ugh, I'm sorry S. That is rough.  DH should clean up after himself, in the very least.   What a sucky, busy time.  Before you know it, it will be Sept. Hang in there <3
