It's SUNNY here. A shocking thing this Summer in NJ. LOL.
I'm done with work and just trying to rest as much as possible in preparation of the impending birth?though no signs of labor that I can tell so far.
My hands are SO swollen that my left hand actually hurts! My feet, too. I hope my blood pressure is OK at my 40 week tomorrow (2 days early). I'm ready for this baby to come OUT.
Hope everyone else is doing OK. Any progress to my fellow end-of-termers?
Re: Happy Monday!
Oh Robyn, I am sorry you are so swollen. Have you checked your blood pressure? If you don't have a machine, you can go to a fire station or drug store to check it. Please take care of you and LO.
On a happier note - yay for being off work!! Rest and enjoy this beautiful day!
My blood pressure has been consistently normal?no more than 115/75 my entire pregnancy?so I'm not too worried. I feel OK beyond the swelling and my face isn't puffy. So unless I feel badly today, I'll probably just wait until tomorrow's appointment. But I promise to check if anything changes!
But my hands are ridiculous! Even typing is uncomfortable (but I can do it). I doubt I could actually WRITE something, however.

Can't believe I'm still here with no baby! I have an appt. tomorrow and the midwife will talk induction. I really wanted to go on my own, but it appears this baby isn't going to move and they won't let me go past 42 weeks.
Robyn: I've been really swollen in my hands too. They go numb at night and hurt also. My BP was fine at my last appt. a little more elevated than previously, but not considered high. Hopefully yours will be fine too.
Drink, drink, drink and, when you can't tolerate it anymore, drink more water! I'm so glad you're officially on maternity leave. Now you can really get some much needed rest. Get those feet up!
Tell that lil' guy he can come out now that we're in August
So excited for you!!
This morning I called my new insurance (United HealthCare) and all is set up and there is no problems with being pregnant when switching (not considered a pre-existing condition). Our (me & baby) hospital stay will only cost the $500 inpatient copay. So that's a huge relief.
And I just called my soon-to-be old insurance (Oxford, which isn't bad just has restrictions) and got the information on how to voluntarily terminate my coverage. They were quite nice and are trying to get the hospital in Florida to resubmit as an ER visit. It may not work but at least they're trying.
So I'm feeling like a load is off my shoulders re: health care. Though the family policy is still VERY expensive ($430 each paycheck from my DH, but pre-tax) and our monthly take home is now down $200 per month. It's going to be a struggle for a long time. But I'm trying not to worry too much and I guess we'll just figure it out.

Robyn, glad the insurance worked out!
Sorry about the swelling. I have no advice there as I haven't had any swelling at all - I do drink a lot of water and the exercise might help too.
I am doing great, still working full time but remotely (my boss is really nervous about me going into labor at work). It takes my mind off waiting for labor to start! Yesterday's 12-mile run made me feel good but didn't start labor...
I'm sorry your hands are swollen! I have another friend who's been battling BP and swelling, she says drinking a gallon (yes, gallon) of water a day helps tremendously.
I was talking to my mom this weekend, and she oh-so-casually mentioned that all of her five children were born at least a week late. My little sister had to be induced after an extra MONTH. Combined with both my MIL's children coming late, it looks like I might be in for a long haul. Drat.
Robyn, I sumpathize with the swelling. I had my feet swell for most of the last month. But my hands did also, not too bad, but I definitely couldn't get a ring on. They felt really tight. At night they would always go numb. & to be honest with you, that part still hasn't gone away, even 2 weeks after giving birth. They do still go numb but not as often. I guess it all takes time to get back to normal.
& yey to the sunshine here in NJ for the last 2 days! May take Sienna for a walk in the park today.
