Tendonitis?

I previously had tendonitis in both my feet, but it hasn't been active in years.  Over the past week my feet have been feeling a little sore and yesterday when I got up it felt like I had walked miles.  My feet are now so sore that it's hard to walk!  They are not swollen or anything...I have no idea whats going on with them.  They even hurt when I am sitting down...anyone else have this problem?

Re: Tendonitis?

  • Hi! I'm a podiatrist, so hopefully I can help. Is the pain on the bottom of your feet, kind of from your heels to toe? It's probably not tendonitis, but plantar fasciitis. It's a ligament on the bottom of your feet that helps hold up your arch when you stand. It's usually sore if you've been off your feet for a while, gets better after walking for a bit, and then hurts again after too much walking

Arch supports, anti-inflammatories, and stretching are our first line of defense for our patients. You can freeze a bottle of water and roll it under your feet. Stand on a step and lower your heels until you feel a pulling sensation (it will also stretch your Achilles tendon). You'll be able to find more exercises on google. Try the arch supports/Motrin/stretching daily for a month, and you should feel a big improvement. HTH!
