It was suggested that we register prior to the big u/s to prevent a bias creeping into the registry that might give away the sex. We already have a ton of stuff (carseat, stroller, crib, changer, dresser, swing, diapers) . . . and I am totally overwhelmed and sick of it.
And DH HATES it all, so we agreed that I would do as much online as I could and we'd do a quick trip to the store for those things you just can't do online.
I've read Baby Bargains and talked to friends and all that, but still. Not having fun with it.
Re: Ugh. Anyone else not enjoy registering?
I'm putting it off as long as possible. Even with reading books and looking at lists I still feel horribly overwhelmed. DH really wants to help but I keep thinking about our wedding registry. I hope and pray it goes better! We didn't even make it half way around Target before we were both grumpy and tired of it. We never finished and didn't register anywhere else. At least we made it through the kitchen part of the store, which was high on our priority list.
GL!
Yeah, outside work (which is a toss up) I don't think anyone is throwing me a shower either (though we may try and organize something with the families - more for them to meet, as they actually never have), but my mom told me that she knows that the family will be buying gifts so I shouldn't worry so much, but to get working on the registry.
I think I would cry if we had to decide on things like furniture and bedding.

hey easjer05! How are you doing? Good I hope! I have been chugging along, not really playing around on the boards much these days. My work put the stops to thebump, thenest and all things fun, so I havent been around much.
Registering for the baby was more fun then the wedding registry. One because I took my mom (who needed cheering up that particular weekend) and my aunt. So we made it fun. My husband is scared off registering for every. Our wedding one was a disaster, so he vowed never again. hahahah! I have found that going on friend's registries after the fact at home and seeing what they registered for has been helpful. Other then that... it is a bit of a chore!
Heya, misslb! Look how far you are now! Wow!
I think I'd have fun if I could take my sister, but she lives out of state. I love my mama, but she mostly just talks about how they never needed all this stuff and babies are perfectly happy with very little, so it becomes an aggravation.
And right now, I'm 'rest while laying down as much as possible' whenever I'm not working until the baby stops using my placenta as a trampoline or the placenta grows away from my cervix. I've got a little monkey in my ute!
How're things going for you?
