1st Trimester

wdyt about my first appt?

I know I'll find out tomorrow, but...

I have to wait until Monday to make my first appt, because I played phone tag all day with my ob/gyn Friday. (I'm a cosmetologist and I had clients, lol).

Do you think they'll see me before I hit 8 weeks or wait, regardless of me being H-R? I have to utes and 2 cervices. My reg. ob/gyn isn't qualified to handle my pregnancy. She said she could do my first visit, then give me the referral to the specialist I need to see.

If she wants to wait 8 weeks, I wonder if the other doctor would do the same? I'm just worried about which uterus the baby might be in. They're both small, but one is bigger than the other, providing more room to grow.

  • You have two uterus's and two cervix's??? Wow, thats interesting. Would you be considered high risk?....I have no clue about this. I would just speak to my OB about this one, cause you have a special situation.

I had no idea this was even possible.  Wow!

Like pp's said, I would demand a referral or an appointment.  Your pregnancy sounds "different" enough that you warrant that!

  • I'm sure she can get me in by my 8th week, I just don't know if I should wait that long. If she thinks so, then she knows best. She once referred me to an amazing fertility specialist for some pain I was having. She misdiagnosed my problem, and he said she was fine for my regular paps, but the day I got pg, to go to this other place. I called his office and they have to find my records, as this was two years ago. ( DH and I were not TTC then, btw). They can give me the referral, and my ob/gyn can, too. Someone will give it to me. I guess what I could do is call the prenatal wellness center that I'm being referred to, tomorrow and see what they would recommend.

To the pp- yes, I am considered high-risk. The fertility specialist, told me no matter what, he knew I'd be on BR my last trimester.  He said I had a 65% chance of getting pregnant, while "normal" women have 75%+.

I'm really nervous, but just putting all of this in God's hands! I'll let you all know tomorrow what I find out.

  • I have a question for you...Does this mean that you can get pregnant still....and have your other uterus implanted... (I dont know if that a common sense question or not) just wondering?...

  • When you call to make the appt, ask to talk to a nurse and for them to pull your chart.  Once they see your situation - they'll see you sooner, I am sure.  GL to you!!!

I do remember something on the news a few months ago about a local woman who had twins.  She had 2 uteruses (sp) too.  I can't remember the exact thing that made it eve more unusual than that.  I think it was either they had different fathers or that they were conceived at different times, but within a month of each other.

  • Yes, getting pregnant in the other uterus is still possible. Good thing, I'm only sleeping with DH, lol. I could also get pregnant with two different men's babies, lmao.

    Here's a quote from a science journal:

In December 2006 in Britain, three babies were born from two separate wombs inside the same woman. As far as the medical community knows, only about 70 women with uterus didelphys have ever been simultaneously pregnant with one baby in each womb. The chances of it occurring are about 5 million to one. Fewer of those women have carried one or both babies close to term. The chances of a woman with two wombs being pregnant with three babies -- two in one womb, one in the other -- are about 25 million to one. And the chances of all three babies surviving are even slimmer. Twenty-three-year-old Hannah Kersey's three daughters might be the only ones, at least in recorded medical hist

  • If I had twins, I'd hope it would work out,but my body will already have a hard enough time carrying one baby in such a small uterus.

  • Just a guess, but I would think they'd want to see you ASAP just to get a handle on what's what.  Good luck!
  • I'd like to think so, too. Okay, taking the dog for a walk! BBL!

I would not settle and demand to get in asap. If your OB can't get you in demand the referral over the phone.
