Prepping questions

Hi,

I'm trying to decide how to prep most efficiently.  I was planning to boil my unbleached prefolds, bamboo fitteds and kissaluv fitteds all together, then put them in the wash with my synthetic diapers.  Does this sound about right?

Re: Prepping questions

  • It kind of depends on quantities. Assuming you have mostly natural fiber items to prep, I would boil and then run through a couple of wash/dry cycles separately. When I boiled, I felt that there was still oil left on them, so I wouldn't mix immediately. I just prep our covers and AIO by throwing them in with our normal laundry (we don't have many), but you could probably add to the final wash/dry load..

  • If any of them have snaps, don't boil them. You can ruin the snaps.

I'm not a huge fan of the boiling method, myself.  I found it tedious and sweltering.  4-5 hot wash/hot dry cycles worked great for me.
