My best friend is arranging my shower for me. This is my first baby and I didnt really know what to expect so I was really happy that she volunteered to throw it b/c she has lots of experience. I dont know what I was expecting but I feel like I have no control over what its being planned. LOL I told that to her and she said "of course you dont .... you dont get to plan your own shower "

Dont get me wrong I gave her the date I wanted and the guest list, but the rest is a secret....grrr.....when did I become such a freak. Why cant I just sit back and let her plan it ???

you aren't a freak. i don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to be involved in planning your own shower. my sisters are throwing mine but i asked them that they involve me in some of the details as well. I guess if they had said no I would have had to deal with it, but they said it was fine.

I have 4 of my best friends and my mom planning my shower. I had everything planned before they even talked about it. lol So I think it's ok. They said they wouldn't have expected anything less of me. lol They keep telling me to stay out of it, but know I wont and assured me thats why they love me. lol

Maybe when your BF was pregnant and had someone else trying to involve her in the shower she really didn't want to be involved, and just assumes you want the same thing. She's probably just trying to keep you as unstressed as possible, since pregnant ladies shouldn't have to do anything but be comfy and eat
