Yeah.  We got 10 nieces and nephews.  This question sucks.  Every time.  After a year they finally shut up.  Well, some of them!!

My 6 year old nephew asked me if I was pg. When I said "no not yet".. He asked ".. A little pg?". Made me so sad.

My nephew and nieces wonder the same thing.  I want so badly to give them a little cousin to play with.  Hopefully, soon they'll get their wish.

Our niece and nephew don't ask. Thankfully I think my SIL has had that talk with them. She always had a very hard time getting PG and suffered several m/c's. Of 3 siblings she's the only one that has kids. They are 17, 15 and 3. My DH and his brother are still childless so I know the kids must ask her when they're gonna have cousins, thankfully they don't ask us.

My niece did the exact same thing last year but then said if I was a mom she would have to share me and she didn't want that.  But I do have 23 other nieces and nephews so she already does!

OMG that just made me tear up a little.  I have 2 nieces and 3 nephews and I've not been asked that yet.  (However, about 3 of them are too young to ask).  I guess now I should expect that ? sometime soon.

Yeah my sister has 5 kids and they are always asking why they don't have cousins.  We just tell them that we are working on it.  That seems to appease them since they are too young to really understand.

Ouch. Luckily I haven't been asked by my nieces or nephews. Somone asked me at work though last week and I just said it wasn't going well. That shut them up! Most people have stopped asking me, but I know kids don't know any better. It still stings though.

My 5-year-old neice asked me, "So, when people ask you if you have any kids, do you say no?"  I responded, a little puzzled, "Well, yeah."  She then said with a grin, "But that's not true, because you have Chas!" (our dog).  That made me feel a little sad, but also it was touching to be reminded that I can be mommy-like without being a "mom" per se.  She went on to point out how I take care of my dog like I would a kid and that he loves and needs me.  From the mouths of babes...

I am so sorry Smilee. I know that can be heartbreakng. Last week, my niece told me that I could not be in 6th grade. When I asked her why, she said because I am a mom. I kind of looked at her, and she said, "yeah, you're Toby's mom." It was so sweet and I felt really good that she felt like I was still a mom even if it wasn't for a baby. It made me feel really sad though that I can't be "Baby Z's" mom yet........

my nephew is 15 months so he hasn't asked but on more than one occasion BIL/SIL have told him and her growing belly that "aunt tara and uncle dave are working real hard to make you a cousin"  ::sigh::
