How often do you buy DC a new toy?

I don't mean something from the $1 bin that they pitched a fit for and you just gave in and bought it. I mean toys that are $10, $20, $30 or more.

  • Far too often.  The bigger things (I'd say $25+) are saved for special occasions, rewards, etc., usually.  Although, he got a kitchen and a train table just for the hell of it.

Oh, and a pool, and a water table.  And trains.  Ugh.

Far too often.  I've resisted buying him a scooter, that he's asked for, until his birthday; which is at the end of August.   I am guessing I'll be able to hold out that long!

  • rarely!  DD was 9 months, i looked around and realized all she had were newborn toys or makeshift items from around the house (water bottles, pieces of paper, etc).  i've bought a few the last few wks, but nothing more than $20.  poor kid...

Birthdays & Christmas only.  My kids are in daycare, so they don't even play much with the toys they have.  I'm kind of a hard-a$$ about it too, because when they get a bunch of toys from friends/family I hold on to them & give the gifts to the kids through out the year if they seem like they are getting bored with the ones the already have.
