Ack! PITCH BLACK POOP?

I've seen some dark doo doos in my days, but PITCH BLACK? I'm not exaggerating.. it's black as black. Formed. no distinct odor.

As a nurse, that alarms me (old blood in her GI system) but she's acting fine and has been quite healthy)

She been eating normal, maybe the blueberries did it? but she usually eats blues.... weird.

Any reason to freak, ya think?

Could be the blueberries. We also get that after blackberries.

I was just going to ask if she has recently had blueberries. My daughter eats them nearly every day but one day she ate more than she should have and her diapers were very, very dark.

I would guess the blueberries. FIL called me at work one day because DD had black poop and I called the nurseline and before I got a call back I remembered all the blackberries she had eatten the day before. I called FIL and asked if there were seed and there was so we determined it was from the berries.

DD gets these when she eats blueberries too. I don't think it's a cause for alarm. If you cut out the blueberries for a few days and it continues, I might give a call then.

This is crazy......I was just going to write this post!! DS has had the same poop the past two mornings and daycare said he had a few this afternoon too. I was thinking the blueberries and just a lot of fruit. DS loves blueberries! That's all he would eat, if I let him!! The huge container was just on sale at the grocery store, so he has been getting more than usual. I feel better that the consensus is blueberries.
