Pregnant after a Loss

April Mama's Check-in

So let's start Show and Tell. This week was BABY BLOAT! I can't seem to fix mine. So I want to know what do you do that makes yours worse, better? What do you do to hid it? How does it make you fell? Why you like it and Hate it?
Monday's PIP theme~ Fat babies....You know the ones I am talking about the REALLY fat babies not the ones that are cute and chubby the ones that you go "OH MY I hope that there is a medically reason for that and it's not child abuse!" These are what I want for Monday's PIP check-in.
Information I need for my list is your EDD (your best guess at this point is fine), Screen name (and real first only name if you like), age (only if you want to), any up coming appointment or bloodwork, Your next Big Milestone, and A short TTC history. You can protisapate as much or as little as you like.
I will start a list of April mama based on the responces here. I check my past post so even if this isn't on page one or two and you would like to join go ahead and say something I will see you. April mama Check-in post will be Monday mornings (PIP), Wednesday Afternoons(WOTW) and Friday evening(S&T). Looking forward to getting a good big group. See you all Monday and don't forget your Fat baby pic.

  • Hi!  I would like to join this group!  My SN is AB&TB, my real name is Tina, I am 28, and my O based EDD is April 2nd.  I Oed 9 days late, so I am not certain if my EDD will remain in April, once my OB gives me an offical one.  I suppose it will all depend on where the LO is measuring at my first OB appt & u/s on 8/19 (forever away!).  My next milestone is making it to the OB appt and seeing a h/b at the u/s.

    TTC History:

The short version of our TTC history is in my siggy, but we started TTC in October of 2006, I got pg the first time in May of 2007.  After a what seemed to be a trouble free pregnancy, a good u/s at 11 weeks, and h/b located with doppler at 14 weeks, we had a missed m/c in September 2007 at 18 weeks.  Testing revealed that the baby boy had a ringed 18th chromosome.  I got pg again with my son in November 2007.  I had a pretty eventful pregnancy (measuring 1+ week behind early on, slowly rising betas-53 hour doubling time, unexplained bleeding weeks 10-17, shortened/funneling cervix starting at 28 weeks-requiring steroid shots).  I was more that 3cm dilated at 35 weeks, but I ended up delivering July 19th 2008, at 37 weeks 5 days on our 5 year anniversary.  The L&D went almost perfectly (some aspirated amniotic fluid and cord around his neck), and we didn't realize anything was wrong with our son until he started having seizures at 1 month old.  We finally got the diagnosis of the genetic mutation Tuberous Sclerosis and Infantile Spasms/Epilepsy a couple of days before he turned 2 months old.  He has had seizures almost everyday since last August, and he is on 4 anti-seizure meds at the moment.

Always having wanted our children close together, we started TTC #2 December 2008.  I completely stopped EPing at the end of February, and my cycles returned shortly thereafter.  We got pg April of 2009, but it was a chem pg, which I m/ced at 4.5 weeks.  We got pg again, 2 looong cycles later this July (one day after my DS's b-day we got our BFP!)  We are really hoping for our sticky, 100% healthy baby!  If you read all of this you deserve a medal!  Wink

    Show & Tell:

Well honestly, I can't tell if I am bloated or not.  I think I am some days, but my pants are pretty loose already, because I bought these to look okay on my post pg belly.  Which I hate to say, is still carrying an extra 15 lbs from all of my pgs, and a bunch of loose stretch mark riddled skin.  But, I remember the first time I was pg, the bloat got really bad around weeks 9-10!  And I started wearing the belly band so I could unbutton my pants.  I couldn't bring myself to start wearing maternity until after the big u/s.  This time I have already worn my maternity shorts and a couple of shirts...they are just so comfy!!

  • I'm thrilled to join this group too! My name is Lauren, 28, and based on my lmp, my tentative dd is 4/3/10. We have been ttc since Nov 08. We had our first m/c in Feb 09, and 2nd m/c in May 09 (see siggy). We had a rpl work up and was recently dx with MTHFR for which I take 3mg FA in addition to my pnv. We're hoping this is it, and this baby plans on sticking around for the long haul. Our next big milestone is making it to next weekend. I will be 6 weeks and have not made it past that point w/either of my past pgs. I'm sort of relieved b/c I'm going for weekly monitoring w/my RE up until 8 weeks. I'll get blood work & an u/s each week, until I'm discharged to my ob/gyn. First u/s on Monday!

S&T: I had really bad bloat all week, up until this morning. I actually used my bella band on Wed., b/c I couldn't fit into pants. I was also running out of poofy shirts. I hated the bloat b/c I always feel like people are looking at my stomach, like I will have something to tell them. We'll see what the week brings!
