So I lost 14 pounds with morning sickness and hadn't gained any weight back until this last appt on Monday. I was 24 weeks and had gained 10 pounds in 6 weeks. I know it came on all at once but I am within range of where I should be. Well she started telling me I need to start excercising and not eating after 6pm, which is impossible for me because I don't get home from working 12 hour shifts till 8:30 and I cook almost every night for me and DH. Then she sent me a pregnancy diet she found and told me I really need to stick to it. I eat healthy already and I am on my feet all day at work. I feel like she is telling me I am getting fat. She says she is worried I will end up like her and not be able to lose the weight. I know she means well but it just hurt my feelings. I was feeling pretty happy and looking at my baby bump as something to be proud of and now I kind of feel self conscious again and very unattractive. Okay vent over.
Re: Mom vent
Judging from your siggy pics, you look like a very healthy pregnant woman! Don't let your mom's comments bother you. If you know that your weight gain is on track, then that's all you need to think about. Besides, even if you gained more than planned, you will be able to lose every pound. I know a woman at work who gained 60 pounds with her pregnancy. (She had a milkshake and anything else she wanted every day.) She is now back to about 105 pounds.
Your baby appreciates a healthy diet to get the nutrition it needs- not a restricted diet that would deprive you and baby of the nutrients you need.

Judging by your siggy pic, you're adorable! If your OB isn't worried, then I wouldn't be either.

Then I would invite her over for cake and ice cream!
