The weather here has been pretty nice lately, so we have the windows open. DD was napping on the floor (her choice) and I'm sitting on the couch doing homework and browsing the internet. I heard a loud banging sound right outside of the window and looked out to find the neighbor kids hitting our trees with big sticks. I told them (out the window) that they needed to move on. They said, "Oh, these are our sticks." I told them I didn't care, I didn't want them playing in our yard. Then, they asked, "How are you home if your car is gone?" Uuuh...so, you are watching to see if we are gone and then you come over to our yard to be destructive? Awesome. Just a couple of weeks ago, they were swinging from a rope around our trees in the front yard. I had to help them get their damn rope down to get them to go home. I've also found them poking around in our garage and running and jumping off our porch. I don't know what to do about them...I don't think talking to the parents would do any good at all. Ugh. Of course, Nora is now awake after 15 minutes of sleeping because of all of this.
Re: Just had to chase the neighbor kids out of our yard AGAIN
Have you mentioned this to your dh? Since he is a firefighter, I imagine he would have some good input on this sort of thing.
How old are they?
There are 2 kids in my neighbourhood that I have the same issue with.
The other day I was lying on the couch (I had a day off and the kid was outside with her friends) and my cat was sitting on the window sill because I had it open....from outside I hear, "Looking at that f**king fat cat". I just ignored them, then they start throwing ROCKS at my window chanting, "Kill the fat cat".
I popped up from the couch and said that I didn't appreciate their words and that they were trying to hurt my cat....the 3 year old gave me the finger and the 2 of them ran off.
The kids are 1st grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade.
In that case, I would call the cop. These jerks need to have a little come to Jesus meeting with someone and if their parents aren't going to be the ones, then the cop said he would do it.
