Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Rude co-worker comment

So I went to say good-bye to a retiring co-worker and he says "you're almost back to your normal size". I'm sure he meant well but geez I just had a baby 8 weeks ago...people can be so rude sometimes! Tongue Tied

Re: Rude co-worker comment

  • they don't know what else to say so they have to say something stupid...this happens w/ old age I think.

  • That's terrible!  A "you look great" would have sufficed.

My mom likes to tell me that she went home in her pre-PG clothes from the hospital, which is total BS.  She continues to repeat this despite the fact that I am not anywhere near putting on pre-pg jeans.

  • Here is a post from this afternoon that I posted on my local board

Im sitting here almost in tears.

I just had a lady come to the window 'oh, I didnt know you were pregnant' I replied 'im not, shes 3 months old and im getting tired of comments like that' I made it know that I was pissed. I wuldnt even look at her afterwards.

Im down 13 lbs this month. People like this make me feel like I have accomplished NOTHING!! She is the 3rd person that asked me this month. 1 lady that asked also asked in June!

This lady only saw me from the chest up so I dont get it. Im so pi$$ed right now i could cry!
  • Can you believe how rude people are?!?
  • It makes me mad that any man would think a comment about a woman's body like that would be appropriate. And I'm sorry that someone's mom would be so insensitive about it either.

I feel for you all, I'm in the same boat and I wonder if I will ever get back to my "normal" size. It's so depressing to still be wearing maternity clothes.

DH's grandma told me once that she went home in a size 2 pencil skirt from before she was pregnant.  I told her that that was back when they thought smoking wasn't harmful and women weren't supposed to gain weight when they were pregnant....I got the Indifferent face and DH just giggled.
